Last updated: May 2nd, 2026

1. Introduction

Sleepy Chat Media LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“SleepyChat,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates the SleepyChat service. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you access our dashboard, chat experiences, overlays, APIs, and supporting services (collectively, the “Services”). For privacy and data protection purposes, Sleepy Chat Media LLC is the operator and, where applicable, controller of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains our practices. Where applicable law requires consent, we will request it separately or through the relevant product, platform, cookie, OAuth, billing, or account authorization flow.

SleepyChat uses YouTube API Services. By using the Services to connect YouTube, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. For more information on how Google handles data, review the Google Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account, authentication, and billing information

  • Account details from identity providers, such as your name, email address, user ID, and avatar.
  • Billing and subscription information from payment providers, such as customer IDs, subscription IDs, plan, status, renewal or cancellation dates, billing email, checkout events, portal links, invoice metadata, payment failure status, refunds, chargebacks, and related support records. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
  • Records of your acceptance of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, including document versions and acceptance timestamps.
  • Messages, attachments, and metadata you send to us for support, billing, abuse, or legal requests.

Configuration, uploads, and content you provide

  • Chat feeds, overlay layouts, widget settings, alert rules, moderation settings, and dashboard preferences.
  • Audio files, images, fonts, custom font metadata, widget assets, and other files you upload or configure for use in the Services.
  • Text, commands, stream titles, poll or prediction text, Text-To-Speech settings, Text-To-Speech preview text, template text, and other instructions you submit or cause the Services to process.

Connected platform information

  • Linked channel metadata from platforms you connect, such as channel IDs, usernames, display names, profile images, platform roles, and connection timestamps.
  • OAuth tokens, refresh tokens, authorized scopes, token metadata, and permission status for platforms that use OAuth or similar authorization flows.
  • Live chat messages and event payloads from connected platforms, including message content, author identifiers, display names, profile images, badges, roles, timestamps, message IDs, moderation events, viewer counts, follows, raids, subscriptions, memberships, gifts, tips, and other platform-specific stream events.
  • Platform actions you initiate through SleepyChat, such as sending chat messages, creating or ending polls or predictions, updating stream metadata, and performing supported moderation, shoutout, raid-style, or other channel-management actions.

Information collected from YouTube API Services

  • OAuth tokens and authorized scopes used to access YouTube on your behalf.
  • Channel profile details, such as channel ID, title, custom URL, and profile image.
  • Live chat messages and event payloads, including message content, author display name, author channel ID, profile image, and moderator, owner, sponsor, or membership status.
  • YouTube Live events such as Super Chats, Super Stickers, memberships, gifted memberships, polls, moderation events, and viewer count signals.
  • Subscriber details returned by YouTube API Services, such as subscriber channel ID, display name, avatar, and subscription timestamp, to power subscriber or membership alerts.
  • YouTube actions you initiate through SleepyChat, such as sending live chat messages, creating or ending polls, changing permitted broadcast metadata, and performing supported moderation actions.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested URLs, timestamps, and error details.
  • Essential cookies and local storage used for authentication, security, preferences, region detection, and application functionality.
  • Optional analytics cookies and pseudonymous usage data through Google Analytics when analytics are enabled and permitted by your region or cookie choice.
  • First-party product usage data, such as feature usage, upload usage, Text-To-Speech usage, plan-limit events, checkout intent, and operational metrics.
  • If stream analytics are enabled for your account, first-party stream metrics tied to your account and connected channels, such as per-stream viewer count samples, peak and average viewers, message totals, unique chatter counts, follows, raids, and raid viewer totals. For Twitch, TikTok, and Kick, this may also include platform support metrics such as subscriptions, gifted subscriptions, Prime subscriptions, bits, diamonds, kicks, and support-event totals. We do not store persistent viewer profiles or raw message archives for this feature.

Stream content relayed

When you connect a platform, our relay temporarily processes chat messages and event payloads to display them across your active sessions, browser sources, overlays, and connected clients. These raw payloads are not stored after the session ends, although short-lived in-memory caches and derived stream analytics may be retained as described in this Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Information

  • Authenticate you, maintain secure sessions, and provide account access.
  • Render combined chat, alerts, overlays, browser sources, polls, predictions, viewer counts, and stream events.
  • Store settings, chat feeds, overlays, widgets, uploads, and preferences so you can reuse them.
  • Link connected platforms, keep authorizations current, detect missing scopes, refresh tokens, and perform actions you request or authorize.
  • Process YouTube API data to provide YouTube-facing features, including live chat, polls, viewer counts, subscriber or membership events, moderation actions, and supported broadcast metadata actions.
  • Generate Text-To-Speech audio, enforce Text-To-Speech limits, prevent abuse, and deliver generated audio to your connected clients. This may involve sending the relevant text, language, voice, and audio settings to a Text-To-Speech provider.
  • Process subscriptions, trials, billing status, checkout, cancellation, refunds, chargebacks, and plan limits.
  • Monitor performance, debug errors, maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms.
  • Provide support, respond to requests, and communicate with you about the Services.
  • Analyze usage trends, capacity, pricing, and product performance when analytics or first-party reporting are enabled.
  • Comply with law, legal process, tax, accounting, platform, security, and compliance obligations.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following ways:

  • With identity providers that authenticate you.
  • With payment providers that process subscriptions, checkout, billing portals, invoices, refunds, and taxes.
  • With hosting, database, object storage, CDN, security, monitoring, email, analytics, and support providers that help us operate the Services.
  • With connected platforms, such as Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, Kick, or Google API Services, when you connect an account or ask SleepyChat to display data or perform an action on that platform.
  • With Text-To-Speech providers when needed to generate voice audio you configure or request.
  • With media search or content providers when you use integrations that search, preview, or select third-party media.
  • With authorities, courts, legal advisors, or third parties when required by law, subpoena, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, or the Services.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

Some information is shared because you configure it to be public or viewer-facing. For example, chat messages, commands, moderation actions, polls, predictions, stream titles, alerts, overlays, and browser source output may be visible to viewers, moderators, connected platforms, or anyone with access to the relevant chat feed, overlay, or stream.

We share information internally with team members and contractors who need it to operate, secure, administer, and support the Services. These parties are required to use the data only for SleepyChat purposes and to protect it.

SleepyChat’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use Google user data for advertising, use Google user data to determine creditworthiness, transfer Google user data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or surveillance providers, or use Google user data to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Human access to Google user data is limited to cases where you consent, where needed to operate or troubleshoot the Services, where needed for security or abuse investigation, or where required by law.

5. Data Retention

We retain account information, settings, chat feeds, overlays, widgets, uploads, and linked channel records while your account remains active or as needed to provide the Services. You may delete many stored items directly in the dashboard.

We retain OAuth tokens and linked platform metadata until you unlink the platform, revoke access through the platform, or delete your account, except where limited retention is needed for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or abuse prevention. For Google and YouTube data, revocation or unlinking may require deletion or loss of YouTube-authorized data as required by Google policies.

Relayed chat payloads are generally ephemeral and discarded after delivery. Our relay services keep short-lived, in-memory caches, such as live broadcast metadata, duplicate-event markers, recent subscriber IDs, and recent moderation or poll state, to avoid duplicate events and improve performance.

If stream analytics are enabled, we retain stream session aggregates for up to 3 years and viewer count samples for up to 180 days unless a shorter period is required by law or operational needs. If you disable stream analytics for your account, we stop storing new stream analytics and delete previously stored stream analytics tied to your account.

We retain billing, tax, accounting, legal acceptance, security, support, and abuse-prevention records for as long as reasonably necessary for business, legal, compliance, accounting, dispute, and fraud-prevention purposes. We retain logs and operational analytics only as long as needed for legitimate business purposes, security, or legal compliance.

Account deletion removes stored chat feeds, linked channel records, associated tokens, and account-controlled configuration data from active systems, subject to backup, security, legal, billing, abuse-prevention, and operational retention described above. Deletion does not remove information already transmitted to connected platforms, viewers, browser sources, third-party providers, or recipients outside our control.

6. Your Choices

  • Update or delete chat feeds, overlays, widgets, uploads, and settings directly from the dashboard where available.
  • Unlink connected platforms through the Manage Platforms page.
  • Disable stream analytics from the Account page to stop storage of stream analytics for your account.
  • Use Cookie Preferences in the site footer to allow or reject optional Google Analytics cookies.
  • Request account deletion from the Account page or by contacting us.
  • Request access, correction, deletion, export, restriction, or objection by contacting us.
  • Revoke SleepyChat’s access to your Google account through Google’s security settings.
  • Disable chat connections at any time to stop active message processing.

To exercise privacy rights, email info@sleepychat.org. We may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request. If you use an authorized agent where legally permitted, we may require proof of authorization and verification of the account holder.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, encrypted storage for sensitive tokens, least-privilege practices where practical, and monitoring intended to detect suspicious activity. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. You should protect your identity-provider account, enable multi-factor authentication where available, and keep private chat feed and overlay links secure.

8. Children's Privacy

SleepyChat is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us so we can remove it. You may not use SleepyChat as, or as part of, a child-directed application or service, and creators are responsible for complying with children’s privacy and platform rules for their own streams and channels.

9. International Users

Our infrastructure and service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access SleepyChat from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your home country.

10. Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, including in some U.S. states and in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have legal rights to know, access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have rights to withdraw consent, appeal a privacy-rights decision, or lodge a complaint with a privacy authority.

Categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers, commercial information, internet or network activity, audio, visual, or electronic content you upload or transmit, geolocation approximated from IP address or edge-region data, and inferences or usage metrics derived from your use of the Services. We collect and use these categories for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

SleepyChat does not sell personal information or knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a right to limit under California law unless we first provide any required notice and choice. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights, but some requests may limit or prevent our ability to provide certain Services.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at info@sleepychat.org. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be retained where permitted or required for security, legal compliance, billing, dispute resolution, tax, accounting, platform compliance, or abuse prevention. If we deny a request and applicable law gives you an appeal right, you may appeal by replying to our decision email or contacting us again with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes through the dashboard or by email where appropriate. We may require explicit re-acceptance of updated Privacy Policy versions before continued use of some or all Service features. If we materially change how we use Google user data, we will notify affected users and request consent before using Google user data in the new way where required by Google policy or law.
